With having many

Our cattle

FOR THE LOVE OF CATTLE

Cattle have always been an intracule part of this farm operation.  From beef cattle to dairy to back to beef. The majority of our cattle spend their lives here with us. They raise their babies and graze the pasture. We have many memories of our cattle, from watching them being born and taking their first steps to momma. To photo perfect memories such as the herd coming from the pasture to the barnyard through the fog. To even funny antics of nudging a barrow and running after it when it rolls away. We watch our cattle for entertainment but we love our cattle for our souls.

Our hens

For the love of chickens

Chickens are so entertaining and easy to care for. I knew I wanted chickens on the farm when I came back here with my family. It's a great starting point to begin showing your children where their meat comes from. Our chickens have a safe place to go at night and during the long winter days. They spend their summer days sun tanning outside or scratching at the ground.  We have had many different breeds over the years but have found that having a variety of breeds leads to a fun variety of egg colour's.

Our Barn Cats

For the love of cats

Ever since childhood I have loved cats and enjoyed having them live in our barn.  I think of them as our smallest farm workers.  Having them around on the farm serves many purposes.  Not only to control rodent population,  that is a given.  They also are a great companion to the children and to visitors.  They enjoy interaction with the other animals on the farm and that often leads to cute moments between different species.  Having them run to you in the morning when you enter the barn and rub along your legs to say hello, is a wonderful feeling. Having  animals show you that they are happy to see you is a special feeling.
